Venezuelan physician elected president of the Latin American Society of Arterial Hypertension

This Thursday, it was learned that Jesús López, a Tachira doctor, will preside over the Inter-American Arterial Hypertension Society, according to a decision taken at the meeting of this organization held in La Asunción, Paraguay.

Every three years, in the assembly of all its members, the election of the president of the Latin American Society of Hypertension and Venezuela was satisfied to have been honored by an assembly of about 700 doctors, in a direct and secret election. Jesús López.

The doctor said that during this meeting "issues inherent in the area of ​​arterial hypertension were discussed, from basic sciences, to clinical application and epidemiology, in all countries".

López recalled that four books on arterial hypertension have been published, and there are also five Venezuelan norms of hypertension.

“Pressure monitoring, self-measurement of blood pressure, hypertension and ventricular hypertrophy; arterial and kidney hypertension, where the entire spectrum of evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of arterial hypertension of the population is analyzed”.

The specialist indicated that this achievement is about recognition of Latin American doctors for proper work. In addition, he pointed out that the Táchira state is a pioneer of the Arterial Hypertension postgraduate course, which is done at the Central Hospital, a postgraduate curriculum design, which allowed Argentina to also delineate its specialization.
