Latam Airlines Brasil announced that it will double the number of flights to Falkland Islands from Brazil. The availability of the new weekly flight to Mount Pleasant Airport (Falkland Islands) from Sao Paulo will have a monthly stopover in Cordoba, Argentina. This flight will operate from November 20, 2019.
With this new service to Mount Pleasant in Latam, we will double the number of commercial flights to the islands and provide direct access to our São Paulo hub, which offers connections to destinations in South America, North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. We are proud to be the only airline group that connects the most iconic islands in South America with the world. Nicolás Salazar, Vice President of Network, Latam Airlines Group.

Twice a month, Latam Airlines Brasil will operate nonstop round-trip flights between Sao Paulo / Guarulhos and Mount Pleasant. The LA8210 flight will depart from São Paulo on Wednesdays at 09:30, arriving at Mount Pleasant at 14:35, with a flight duration of five hours and five minutes. The return flight (LA8211) will depart the same day at 16:50, arriving in São Paulo at 21:35.

On the second Wednesday of each month, the southbound flight will have a stopover in Cordoba (Argentina) and the return flight will operate nonstop between Mount Pleasant and Sao Paulo. The LA8208 flight will depart from São Paulo at 06:50, arriving in Córdoba at 10:15, before continuing its trip at 11:40 with final arrival time at 15:05 in Mount Pleasant.

The following Wednesday, the service to the south will operate nonstop - leaving Sao Paulo at 06:50 and arriving at Mount Pleasant at 11:55 - and the flight back north will have a stopover in Cordoba. Flight LA8211 will leave Mount Pleasant at 1:45 p.m., with a stopover in Cordoba at 5:25 p.m., before continuing your trip to São Paulo at 7:00 p.m., arriving at the final destination at 9:50 p.m. On November 20, 2019, the inaugural southbound service will have a stop in Cordoba with a non-stop return flight.

As reported by REPORTUR.co, as a result of the dollar's rise, the price of fuel, among other aspects, Latam Airlines slowed the three-year expansion announced for Colombia. At the moment, the airline has decided to slow down in the remainder of 2019 and by 2020, but not modify the investment of 300 million dollars.

“For now, we have decided to focus on the terrain we have earned, with the frequencies we increase and the network of routes we already drive. 2020 will be the year of profiting the operation in the domestic market where we have grown, which will keep the number of aircraft operating in the country, but we will continue to look for opportunities especially in our operation of international flights to the Lima hub”, he said in his moment Santiago Álvarez, director of Latam Airlines Colombia.
